The class focus will be on mastering phonics skills, comprehension skills, and becoming a fluent reader. This is an excellent class for children who are facing reading challenges. All topics are in alignment with the New Jersey’s Core Curriculum Content Standards.

This course is designed to introduce primary learners to the exciting world of scientific concepts. Students will be engaged with age-appropriate activities, workshops, and assignments.

so you want to be a teacherSo you want to be a Teacher? | Entering Grades 3-5
Do you have fun pretending to teach the class? Do you think that it would be cool to be a teacher? Through a combination of games, activities introduction to teaching as a profession. Campers will learn how to write creative lesson plans and present them to their peers!

DNAMinding Your Mendel | Entering Grades 4-6
Have you ever wondered what was inside of your body that made it grow? Maybe you have wondered why your sister was a math whiz, but you were better in English? Perhaps you would like to know how detectives solve crimes the “CSI way”. Students in this course will learn about the purpose and structure of DNA and why it is important in the study of the human body.

College of MedicineEldridge Overton College of Medicine | Entering Grades 6-8
Is there an aspiring doctor in the house? This science program will introduce campers to the world of medicine. Our “residents” will be introduced to key biological concepts and will participate in activities such as dissection and more! The class will culminate with a “white coat ceremony” where our aspiring physicians will earn their Eldridge Overton “medical degree”!

BroadwayBetter than Broadway | Entering Grades 1-3
This non-competitive course introduces the performing arts to campers of all experience levels. Through a variety of movement workshops and seminars, students learn about various forms of dance and theater. Students will have the opportunity to “perform” at the end of the course. No special shoes or attire required. Campers are to bring a bottle of water to each class.

Fun with ForensicsFun with Forensics | Entering Grades 3-7
The young investigator will have hands on experiences while learning about collecting evidence, documenting the crime scene, DNA profiles and fingerprinting. The class (investigative unit) will be trained and receive their EOSI certification (Eldridge Overton Science Investigator).

DebateThe Debate Team | Entering Grades 3-7

This course is designed to build student confidence by teaching debate skill strategies. Students will participate in mock trials and learn the fundamentals of persuasive writing. This course will prepare your future District Attorney to argue his case in front of the Supreme Court! Campers will partake in an off-site field trip!
